Portrait: Henning Schwarzkopf – a German – French Lawyer with a Cross-Border Focus
Henning Schwarzkopf, our founder, represents the spirit, tradition and the international dynamics of the firm. After his studies at the University of Hamburg, an internship with Graham & James in San Francisco and the bar exam he went on to study at the University of Miami, Florida graduating with a Master of Comparative Law (focus: international law and admiralty).
Several years as the representative of a German law firm in Miami, Florida and as legal counsel for a trust company in Monaco followed until he returned to Hamburg. As an advisor for several European clients Henning Schwarzkopf began to redirect the firm´s attention to China, Hong Kong and, recently, to Singapore. In the meantime, a solid professional network has been established and clients rely on local expertise combined with a European tradition.
Last, but not Least
As an experienced offshore sailor and admiralty lawyer, Henning Schwarzkopf has been one of the pioneers of yachting in China and one of the early members of APSA – Asia Pacific Superyacht Association, based in Hong Kong.
Henning Schwarzkopf is a regular speaker on international corporate law at conferences in Europe and Asia.
